If you want reaching the really top and surrounding the entire rim crater you can start your hike from Toyabungkah, This route is the famous one because you will hike direct to the top of mount Batur and take only 2 hours. First you will start nearby Hot spring at 4 am and walk through eucalyptus and pine trees around 1 hours and then waalk on the rock and some sandy another one hour.
